Table for 16? Yes that’s what we’ll need at our wedding because that’s how big our wedding party is with us included. And every time I tell someone that our wedding party consists of seven bridesmaids and seven groomsmen they always look baffled or shocked or just comment on how insanely large it is. I admit, it is quite large I’ll give them that. But I can’t imagine going any smaller. Matt and I are close with a lot of people and there was really no way to narrow it down smaller.
Just for reference, my bridesmaids breakdown something like this:
Co-Maid of Honor: Jen, best friend from college.
Co-Maid of Honor: Megan, best friend since 6th grade.
Bridesmaid: Katrina, best friend since high school.
Bridesmaid: Brittany, cousin.
Bridesmaid: Liz, college friend.
Bridesmaid: Zoe, college friend.
Bridesmaid: Kourtney, my sister.
And Matt’s groomsmen break down like this:
Co-Best Man: Brad, brother.
Co-Best Man: Ryan, brother.
Groomsman: Danny, high school friend.
Groomsman: Gianni, childhood friend.
Groomsman: Mike, college friend.
Groomsman: Mike, high school friend.
Groomsman: Steve, high school friend.
Junior Groomsmen: Kyle and Kurt, my younger brothers
As you can see we’ve got a pretty good group of friends and family spread out from different parts of our lives that are all coming together and I couldn’t be more excited. Yes our head table will be quite large and spread out, but that’s fine with me and as Tim Gunn says we’ll “make it work.” But just think, with a bigger wedding party we can take crazier pictures, have ridiculous parties, recruit more helpers for the DIY stuff and all around have lots of people involved with our wedding.
Just remember, if you have a big wedding party don’t let other people’s opinions get you down. Heck you could have ten people on each side, I don’t think it matters as long as who you choose is important to you!

We have 16 also! But we have 2 Co-MOHS, 6 bridesmaids, 1 best man, and 5 groomsmen. Well technically one of the bridesmaids is a boy, and one of the groomsmen is a girl, but you get it. We originally had only 6 on each side…. but then some stuff happened.
We’re not making them all sit at one table though, since they’re from all different parts of our lives, we’re spreading them out amongst our friends. We’ll be sitting at a sweetheart table, just the 2 of us.
Maybe you could have a U-shaped table? With you and Matt, and two each of your wedding party next to you on the bottom of the U, and then the other 10 with 5 on each side down the sides? Personally, I love the sweetheart table idea. That’s what we were going to do if we had a sit-down reception. Plus, I know your wedding is going to have crazy fun dancing, so everyone’s going to be up and down all night! It probably won’t even matter to your friends to be split between two tables because they’re going to be dancing the night away anyway!
the more the merrier!
We have 20, not including us. 2 co-best men, 1 maid of honor, 1 matron of honor, 8 groomsmen and 8 bridesmaid. We do not have any kids in our wedding so no flower girls or ring bearers but will probably have his boy cousin (13) be an usher and girl cousin (16) be in charge of the guest book.
Because of this circus of a bridal party (we had too many near and dear friends that we just couldn’t get any smaller, and we actually left a few important people out) we are doing a sweetheart table and letting our bridal party have their own tables with their dates.
I LOVE having a big bridal party because i always have someone I can count on – it’s just getting a bit expensive buying their gifts
