Hey, y’all! My name is Erin, and I live in Tennessee. (Nashville, to be exact.) I’m the Tennessee bloggette because we are getting married in Memphis.
Our story is the classic girl meets boy, girl confuses boy for someone else, girl calls other person boy’s name for a month only to learn she’s been calling him the wrong name, and then girl proceeds not to talk to boy for almost nine months because she was mortified. It’s funny, really.
Winston and I started hanging out after almost a year of knowing each other. We dated. We stayed together as we moved to separate states to pursue our careers. Me, a small town newspaper, and him, more school.
I was convinced Winston wasn’t going to propose until he was finished with school, so I was shocked when he got down on one knee this past September while we were watching football, one of our favorite pastimes. After recovering from the surprise, I said yes. And then I moved to town in December.
After brainstorming and stressing for a few months on dates, times and locations, we are finally moving forward with this planning business. We’ll be getting married at my home church in Memphis, then partying the night away at the restaurant on top of one of the tallest buildings in town on October 30. This year!
I seriously cannot wait and am so excited to be (finally!) diving into wedding planning. I know this is going to be fun because I’m one of those crazy, detail-oriented people.
